Golfers will hit the links in Lincoln this October for a good cause when the Mayor’s Cup Golf Challenge returns on Friday, October 16.
Organized by the City of Lincoln Recreation Department, the annual tournament raises money to help local children participate in recreation programs.
Proceeds support the Mayor’s Cup Scholarship Fund, which provides financial assistance to Lincoln families who might otherwise have difficulty paying registration fees for city recreation programs.
The scholarships can be used toward programs including youth sports, swimming and aquatics, classes, camps and other activities offered through Lincoln Recreation.
Over the years, money raised through the tournament has helped the Recreation Department provide opportunities to thousands of local children.
This year’s tournament will be held at Lincoln Hills Golf Club, located at 1005 Sun City Lane.
Golfers can expect a full day on the course, including food and beverages, contests and a post-tournament awards banquet.
